In 1994, professor Cipriano Galindo formed Grupo Folklorico Alika del Nayar with 12 members and throughout the years, the group grew a great amount. Professor Galindo's vision was to pass on and teach all his members all the traditional knowledge he had gained from the age of 9 to the present day. His goal has always been to keep each and every one of his pieces true to their roots. He originated in Nayarit he named the group "Alika del Nayar" which Alika means dove in the indigenous language of the Koras in Nayarit, and Nayar is the name of the last king of the indigenous people in Nayarit. Until this day our company strives to keep Mexican culture and its tradition alive. Our group has participated in countless events from competitions to festivals and parties.
